Yesterday we went shopping to Aubusson to a bigger supermarket than what we found in Felletin. It´s not that big but still one can find almost anything. I took a lot of photos to show especially my Finnish colleagues how does it look like. I took photos only about food department.
It starts with offers and pastry:
This galette is on the left is one of my favourites. It is baked for Epiphany. The family gathers around the table and the smallest one goes under the table. Someone else with a knife in his/her hands is waiting for the instructions who gets the first piece, the second etc. Each cake contains a small figure, usually from a fairy tale or cartoon. Nobody knows who has it, except if the knife knocks on it:) The person who has it will be the king/queen and after coronation (s)he choses a queen/king for him/herself.
Left: Bread cutter machine
Right: This trolley is much smaller than in other countries I have been to.
Left: I love those soups! You just need to warm them. It is suitable also for vegans.
Right: It surprised me. For beginner cooks.:) (duck)
Both shelfs are full of wines. Ain`t no Alko:)
Look at the prices! It´s no bottom shelf…
Duck in fat:) Not for calory counters but for paleo lovers:) Potato compote:D
Oyster, snails, nam-nam!
What a selection! These chocolates are REALLY delicious.
Cheese department, also the shelves in the upper left corner. I decided to try as many as it´s possible. But after several weeks I doubt that I will remember what I have tried already:)
Left: One of my favourites. Duck liver, gorge
Right: It´s real, as it looks like before picking:)
Left: Cheese cubes with different flavours. Good aperitive.
Right: Very simple carrot salad, very delicious. With duck liver paté it´s a proper lunch for a few euros.
The secret word is: kokonainen:) No spices with E98435736s. The following pictures might shock you so carefully:)
Legs are no surprise for a Hungarian but the head was something new for me as well to find it in a supermarket… Who has the right sized pot??? Which part is eatable? Probably it depends on habits and extent of hunger;)
It´s butter, nothing special but I like the package.
And finally a little delicacy for those who likes to eat it but don´t want to know where does it come from:)
Galette is filled with almond stuff. Guess whose plate is it – not mine…(:
